Privacy Policy

1. Data Collected

As part of using GaroPro, we collect the following categories of data:

  • Registration data: name, email address, password (encrypted, never stored in plain text), phone number, garage information (name, address, business number).
  • Management data: client records, vehicles, work orders, invoices, estimates, inspections, appointments, maintenance reminders, internal notes.
  • Payment data: payments are processed through Stripe. GaroPro never stores your credit card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, access logs.
  • Photos: photos taken during vehicle inspections, stored securely.

2. Use of Data

Your data is used for the following purposes:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the GaroPro service.
  • Manage your account and authenticate your access.
  • Process payments through Stripe.
  • Send transactional communications (appointment confirmations, invoices, estimates, inspections).
  • Send maintenance reminders and commercial communications (with your consent).
  • Generate reports and statistics for your garage.
  • Power artificial intelligence features (see section 3).
  • Prevent fraud and ensure platform security.

3. AI Features

GaroPro uses artificial intelligence services for its AI features. AI features receive the vehicle and inspection information needed for the task. They do not receive the customer's name, email, phone number or address.

4. Data Sharing

We never sell your personal data. It is shared only with our service providers, each contractually bound to comply with PIPEDA:

  • Hosting and storage — our servers and your files are hosted in Canada.
  • Payment — payments are processed by Stripe or Square, depending on the option chosen by the garage. GaroPro never stores card numbers.
  • Messaging — a text message delivery provider and an email delivery provider.
  • Artificial intelligence — an AI service provider for the AI features (diagnosis, draft estimates, summaries).

5. Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Canada. We implement the following security measures: TLS/SSL encryption for all communications, passwords encrypted using industry standards and never stored in plain text, firewall, secure authentication, intrusion detection systems, and daily backups.

6. Data Retention

Your personal data is retained as long as your account is active. After account deletion: personal data is deleted within 30 days, backups are purged within 90 days, and anonymous statistics are kept indefinitely. For expired free trials, data is retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted.

7. Cookies

GaroPro uses only session cookies necessary for the operation of the service (authentication, language preference). We do not use any advertising tracking cookies. Cookies expire after a period of inactivity.

8. Communications and Consent (CASL)

In accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we distinguish two types of communications:

  • Transactional (always sent): appointment confirmations, invoices, estimates, inspection reports.
  • Commercial (consent required): maintenance reminders, promotions, new features.

Implied consent is valid for 2 years. You may withdraw your consent at any time via: the unsubscribe link in every email, the STOP command by SMS, by contacting your garage, or in the application settings.

9. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to: access your personal data, rectify any inaccurate information, delete your data and account, and withdraw your consent at any time. We respond to all requests within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: priv.gc.ca.

10. Minors

GaroPro is not intended for persons under 16 years of age. If we discover that data has been collected from a minor, it will be deleted as soon as possible.

11. International Transfers

Some data may be processed outside Canada by third-party providers in the payment, messaging and artificial intelligence categories, including by the AI features. We choose providers that commit by contract to protecting your personal information.

12. Changes

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy. In the event of a significant change, we will notify you 30 days in advance by email or in-app notification. The most recent version is always available at garopro.ca/en/legal/privacy.
